R.Lalique at Sothebys Auction in New York Sells Well – More Solid R Lalique Results
March 31st, 2009
Lalique Vases Sell Well At Sothebys: At the March 27, 2009 20th Century Sale at Sotheby’s New York, two R Lalique vases were included. Lot 117, was a nice looking thick rimmed cased opalescent R Lalique Alicante Vase with the engraved signature R.Lalique France No. 998. It sold for a premium inclusive total of $18,750 against a pre-sale estimate of $15,000 to $20,000. The other vase was the R Lalique Vase Epicea in green glass with the signature R.Lalique. The Lalique Epicea Vase is seldom seen in color (it’s also seldom seen in frosted), and this one made a premium inclusive total of $6250 against a pre-sale estimate of $5000 to $7000. Sothebys New York did a great job of estimating these vases accurately, and got good prices for both vases. Only two pieces to be sure, but another solid result for the works of Rene Lalique as we move through the Spring decorative arts auction season around the world.

Rene Lalique Vase Sauterelles on Ebay – $30 No Reserve – BEWARE! – UPDATE!
March 1st, 2009
The Lalique Sauterelles Vase Listing discussed in this post was removed by Ebay as of the morning of March 2nd, and the seller is no longer a registered user!
A nice looking R Lalique Sauterelles Vase has appeared on ebay, $30 and no reserve! An alert reader of this Blog wrote us to point out that this listing contains photos which have appeared previously on Ebay in another Sauterelles listing which was sold months ago. In addition, there was a more recent listing of a Sauterelles vase in January with an apparently identical sticker on the bottom to the previously sold one and to the current listing. That would be apparently the same exact sticker, not a similar one. As our alert reader points out, that would be three times for the sticker! The link to Ebay Item Number 250381642106 no longer works since Ebay has removed the listing. However, the photo in this post showing the sticker on the bottom is the photo from that listing. Listing No. 200299463246 (since deleted by Ebay) has the apparently identical sticker. You can decide from reviewing the photos. And a big thank you to “Alert Reader”! We could not provide you with all the information we have on the site, without the help of a number of great members of the R Lalique community who share their time and information to help make this by far, the best source of information about R Lalique anywhere in the world, as well as THE Gathering Place for All R Lalique and Rene Lalique Enthusiasts and Collectors Worldwide. Thanks to all of you!

Rene Lalique Seal Victoire at Auction on Ebay
February 28th, 2009
Lalique Victoire Seal on Ebay: A nice little R Lalique Victoire Seal (cachet) by Rene Lalique circa 1920 has appeared on Ebay with only a $40 starting price and no reserve. This small (4 cm) rare seal is not offered at auction too often. The seller has great detailed photos, reasonable shipping charges, and states ” very nice condition”. Signed LALIQUE, there is also an apparent period engraving on the underside. The Ebay Item Number is 400034024506. This is both one of the smallest and one of the rarest of the fabulous seal designs by Rene Lalique. Many owners don’t realize the age of the seal due to the great LALIQUE signature not containing the typical “R” in front. A tiny but wonderful piece of Lalique history, appearing as so often happens, out of the heartland of America with a low starting price and no reserve on Ebay. And if you are interested in collecting R Lalique Seals, keep in mind we currently have a great selection of rare and colored glass Lalique Seals in the For Sale Section here at RLalique.com.

Let’s Seal the Deal: $1 and No Reserve on a Great R Lalique Cachet!!
February 5th, 2009
So, regular readers of our blog know that we sell stuff on Ebay and it always sells!!! Well, always except once (and twice and thrice will surely come down the road no doubt). In January we posted a nice looking R Lalique Alaska Fox Seal/”Cachet” (hat tip to the language of the homeland of the great Rene Lalique), which still has the remnants of a cendrier attached to the bottom of an otherwise original and great looking Alaska. However, at $400 opening bid, it failed to sell. Hmmmmmm. As long as we’re rolling, we decided to bring it back at $1 and No Reserve. Should sell now! Of course, at that price, we cannot be re-writing the post here in the Blog or the Ad on Ebay. Heck, you get what you pay for 🙂 ! The Ebay Item Number is 320338595407.
Our newest R Lalique listing has appeared on Ebay. It’s a highly opalescent Alaska Fox Seal that is making the rounds full circle from its birth as a seal, to its attachment by Lalique to a dish for sale as a cendrier, to its current state, where the dish is almost gone. The seal remains in its original state, (save the bit of dish attached) and is circa 1931. The Alaska has a starting price of only $400, well below recent sales prices of these seals, and no reserve. Our Ebay User I.D, is RLaliqueSales. We’ve posted the listing in the RLalique at Auction Section. The previous Ebay item number fo this seal was 320332093484. You can also check out our RLalique.com EbayAbout Me Page (well, About US really)! And finally, a good picture of the three foxes; the cendrier, the seal, and the former cendrier but now a seal, can be seen in our R Lalique Tailor Shop!

Fleurettes – 2 – The Sequel
January 31st, 2009
There was so much interest in the Fleurettes Perfume Bottle we listed on Ebay at the beginning of the year, that we decided to list the mate to the bottle we previously sold. It’s another good R Lalique Fleurettes Perfume Bottle (Garniture De Toilette), circa 1919. The perfume bottle has a starting price of only $300, less than half the $610 that the first one sold for, and no reserve. Our Ebay User I.D, is RLaliqueSales. We’ve posted the listing in the RLalique at Auction Section. You can also check out our RLalique.com Ebay About Me Page (well, About US really)! Of course this bottle sells with our famous (and popular) Satisfaction Assurance! And if you want to review the previously sold Fleurettes listing, Ebay Item 320329065774 is the previously Sold Fleurettes Perfume Listing

Goodbye Statue – Hello Clock! A Grande Nue Statue Is Sold – A Grand New Item Appears. R Lalique Auction News. Update – Clock makes $9375 including premium against the $1000 to $1500 estimate!
January 26th, 2009
A couple of R Lalique comings and goings to mention to our readers. First, the Rene Lalique Grande Nue Statue that appeared this past week in France, and which was listed in our R Lalique at Auction Worldwide Section, was reported by the auction house Marseille-Encheres, to have sold for 15,000 Euros, or around $20,000 US dollars. A nice result for what looked from the photo to be a great statue. One of Rene Lalique’s finest designs says the Oracle. As always, we hope the buyer (and other bidders) told them that they saw the great statue here, at RLalique.com.
And on a separate auction news note, appearing at Freemans in Philadelphia on Friday January 30th this week as lot Number 772, is an unsigned Rene Lalique Clock; the R Lalique Deux Figurines Clock on base estimated at only $1000 to $1500. The Rene Lalique Clock Deux Figurines was sold both before and after WWII and was discontinued in 1951 according to the Catalogue Raisonne. Freemans says it’s in the “Lalique Style”, which it definitely is:). Of course as always, check it out for yourself. They have a great set of photos we think they will be happy to email you. If you call Freemans, ask for Doug Girton and don’t forget to let him know we sent you
By telling auction houses that you saw their items here, it makes it a lot easier for us to get you information on upcoming Rene Lalique related pieces. As auction houses find that spreading the word here at RLalique.com results in serious R Lalique bidders, we discover a lot more information in our inbox that we didn’t have to go looking for! And that info goes directly to the benefit of anyone following these pages that is interested in buying R Lalique.
