Yes great results at Quail Lodge sale. Prices vary a lot compared with here in the UK, (I don’t think so).
As for instance the Hirondelle at $6,728 (about £3,000 in Sterling). I purchased one on behalf of a client here in the UK at a provincial auction (May 2008) with only one or two Lalique collectors that I was aware of in the room, with one phone bidder I was up against at near the end of the bidding ‘war’. The final bid was £3,581.50 (post-hammer price-the final price I paid). This piece had the relatively rare Breves Gallery base with it as well!
So, my point is that the rest of the Quail Lodge pieces are would what I would expect to pay here myself. Funny as it may seem is that in France in the Retromobile Paris sale, some pieces failed to reach their reserves!
Happy collecting
As expected but nice big price on that clear Vitesse.
