Note: Early examples of this box have been seen with a bakelite / celluloid bottom that is impressed simply LALIQUE. That same bottom has also been seen with some examples of the Meudon Box, the Fontainebleau Box, and the Chantilly Box. All of these boxes were created at about the same time as Compiégne and are also the same diameter. In addition, the small Deux Sirenes Powder Box for D'Orsay that is the same diameter as all the foregoing boxes has also been seen more than once with the apparently identical bakelite bottom.
