Note: Mirabeau is a small town in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southeastern France. It's about an 8-hour drive from Paris. The town has always been a convenient crossing place for the Durance River. It's also situated near the French equivalent of the southwestern U.S. Four Corners area, being right near where the Var, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Vaucluse, and Bouches-du-Rhône Departments meet. The population is around 1300 people (2017) but there is some great history considering the town's small size. Human occupation in the area dates to 500 BCE and the town's roots can be traced back to the 1100's. They have some interesting buildings that remain from the early days including this great castle!
