Note: Marguerite is French for daisy. Toupie is French for spinning top.

Also Note: In 1929 Lalique created 3 different spinning tops. In addition to this convex Marguerite Spinning Top, he also created a convex Pavot Spinning Top and a concave Pavot Spinning Top.

Also Note: This design top was reproduced in many colors by the modern Lalique Company. They also reproduced the original presentation case including with the R. Lalique Paris France monogram in the oval in the cloth lining underneath the lid. The original case is shown at the convex Pavot Top link above. The modern copies of the box and this design toupie are found using the reproduction link below. We have not seen modern Pavot Toupie copies but that doesn't mean they aren't out there, we just don't know.
