Rene Lalique Dans La Nuit Perfume Bottle information and photos at RLalique.com are tied together on this main Dans La Nuit Perfume Bottles page. Past and future auctions, historical details, sales, copies, reproductions, articles and more are all accessible from here. This page grows as more info is added to the website. Note: Dans la nuit is French for in the night.
Also Note: This bottle been seen in approximate heights ranging from 7.5 cm to 25 cm.
Also Note: On this page we show any bulbous clear/frosted Dans La Nuit bottle decorated with stars with or without enamel or patina. The only exception would be a variant with a different pattern or something else seriously distinguishable.
Also Note: The bottle is documented with three different stoppers. There is a crescent moon and stars, a crescent moon and the words Dans La Nuit, and a W. The stoppers can be proportionately different sizes to the bottle and have different thicknesses. The necks and rims can also vary in shape and thickness. In any event, all bottles have an R. Lalique molded signature on the underside of the bottle (without the word CREATION, and without an engraved additional Lalique France signature as discussed below).
Also Note: There is also a matching model Dans La Nuit Box and a Dans La Nuit Atomizer.
Also Note: Any bottle with the molded word CREATION on the underside is a post-war copy.
Also Note: Examples with metal coated necks and/or rims will also be post-war copies.
Also Note: Post-war reproductions using an old mold with a very faint molded R. Lalique signature but clearly marked Lalique France to the underside have been seen. In addition, unsigned bottles with forged engraved R. Lalique France signatures have been seen.
Also Note: You want a bottle you first determine is authentic, with the molded R. LALIQUE signature to the underside, without the word CREATION and without a Lalique France engraved signature or any other engraved signature. Noting that many Worth bottles have the fluid ounces they contain marked on the bottom, typically in the form 1 FL OZ (so in conjunction with the molded R. Lalique signature. that kind of molded ounces would not be an issue assuming there are not other issues that would disqualify the bottle), if the underside of the bottle has ANY out-of-place, unexpected, or unexplained molded letters, numbers, or words such as (these are actual examples but not a complete list) HP, VN, NA, CHIBO, VB 2, a triangle, or ANY others, those will be the mark of another glassmaker or an indication the bottle was made by another glassmaker. So even if your bottle has the expected molded R. Lalique signature to the underside, if it has ANY unexpected unknown out-of-place molded letters, numbers or words, you should avoid the bottle as it was not produced by Rene Lalique. Bottles have also appeared with no signature and no markings of any kind (not R. Lalique) and with the molded fluid onces as the only marking (not R. Lalique). And you want a bottle without any condition issues. There are relatively a lot of these bottles out there and there's no reason to acquire one with issues. And of course you want a bottle and stopper that are all glass. If there is any plastic, cork, or metal, forget about it.
Finally: One of these bottles very similar in shape and proportions to the March 8, 2021 listing below has appeared with a thick soft plastic stopper marked with a W, and a glass container marked WORTH PARIS to the underside. Another has appeared with a hard plastic stopper that was relief molded LALIQUE FRANCE and 12 1/2 FL OZ to the underside. A third different 5 cm example has appeared with an oversized plastic W stopper and only VB 2 molded to the underside. And a fourth 8 cm example has appeared with an oversized plastic stopper with a W molded to one side, and molded to the underside both WORTH PARIS and the number 1959 over some kind of emblem. Just based on the marks to the underside these bottles would not pass muster, but no matter what it says on the underside, any legitimate looking stopper that is not all glass would mean the bottle and stopper are not by René Lalique.

NOTE: There are other different R. Lalique perfume bottles labeled Dans La Nuit! If you are looking for a Dans La Nuit labeled bottle that does not match this one, go to the catalogue's main Perfume Bottle page at the link above and find your bottle! It may have a different model name as many bottles were used for more than one fragrance. For bottles made for perfumeries (as opposed to Maison Lalique Bottles sold empty), typically but not always, we call the bottle by the first fragrance it was used for. Also different perfumeries sometimes used the same fragrance name.
