Note: Anémone ouverte is French for open anemone. Anémone has the same meaning in French and English. It's a flowering plant (or a flower from the plant) in the buttercup family. They are commonly known as windflowers.

Also Note: There are 2 different versions of this decoration. This one has the petals of the flower opening and spreading outwards. The other version has the petals closing, more upright, and curving a bit inward (Anémone Fermée).

Also Note: This model was originally marketed as a decorative object. We don't know of any evidence it was ever marketed by Rene Lalique et Cie as a paperweight. However, it often appears for sale today marketed as a paperweight and we wanted to make sure interested parties would find it.
