Note: Andlau is a town in NE France located in Alsace roughly between Selestat and Strasbourg. For the last couple of hundred years the population has been remarkably stable between about 1500 and 2000 people. As of 2016 it was about 1800. The town can trace its origins back over 1000 years to the founding of the Andlau Abbey before the year 900 and around which the village formed. As with so many of the small towns in the general area, it's been producing wine for most of its existence.

Also Note: In addition to modern copies of known Andlau models, there are numerous later and unrelated Andlau-like models of various serving and other pieces that were never produced during the period by Rene Lalique or even post-war in crystal. If you do not see an "Andlau" model at any of the Matching Tableware Links below, it's not an Andlau piece that was ever made by René Lalique and is a later "in the style" unrelated piece. Keep in mind that we have seen many lots of Andlau at various auctions over the years that were a mix of real R. Lalique documented items and later unrelated "in the style of" items. So even if you see a sample signature for a particular mixed lot, if any model in the lot cannot be found on our Andlau pages, that model is not R. Lalique no matter what, including no matter what signature is on it or what real Andlau items are selling with it. The only exception is that as of July 2022, we don’t have an example of an Andlau Pitcher in the catalogue that we believe is authentic. The Catalogue Raisonne shows a pitcher for Andlau but we think it's a mistake. The design of that pitcher appears to match the Thomery tableware. We show that pitcher as an Andlau Pitcher only so that interested collectors can see the message that we think it's an error. We don't know if a matching model Andlau Pitcher was ever created.
