Note: Strasbourg is a city in eastern France on the Rhine River / German Border. It's about 250 crow flies miles and about a 5 hour drive from Paris. It's one of the 10 largest cities in France, having a population of nearly 300,000 (2017). Including the surrounding metropolitan areas in France only, it's closer to 800,000. The city can trace its history (with several name changes) to before the birth of Christ. In the 1400's Johannes Gutenberg (of bible but not biblical fame) lived there for some time. With its location in an often-contested area, it has been the site of too many battles to recount over the last 2000 years. Yet it still retains much of its ancient charm today as evidenced by this picture of the Cathedral of Our Lady (Notre Dame) and this picture of the medieval bridge Ponts Couverts that shows the same cathedral spire in the background.
