Note: Saint Teresa of Jesus (aka Saint Teresa of Ávilon) was a Jewish Spanish noblewoman who chose a life within the Catholic Church. She was born in 1515 and died in 1582. She was a reformer and lived during the Council of Trent and the Spanish Inquisition. She was canonized in 1622 by Pope Gregory XV and is one of the patron saints of Spain.
