Note: Prunelles is French for blackthorns or sloes. They are flowering rose family plants. The fruits are used to make sloe gin in England and the liqueur patxraran in parts of Spain. Also, the wood is used to make walking sticks most notably the Irish shillelagh.

Also Note: This decanter was created for the French distiller Cusenier 55 years after the distiller's founding in 1868. However it was later sold directly by Maison Lalique. The decanter is typically signed "R. Lalique pour Cusenier". But it has also appeared signed "R. Lalique France" for Maison Lalique. Cusenier also used the 1923 commercial model Satyre Decanter. That decanter has also appeared signed for either Cusenier or for Maison Lalique.
