Note: Myrrhis (commonly called cicely) is a genus of European perennial herbs. They have pinnate leaves, compound umbels of white flowers, and oblong beaked fruit. Myrrhis is native to many central and southern European mountains. The name is from the Greek word myrrhis that the Greeks gave to an aromatic oil from Asia. It made sense to pick-up that aromatic oil name for this plant as the full name is Myrrhis odorata, with odorata being Latin for "scented" aka aromatic.
