Note: The literature says this fixture was a special order for the Hotel Majestic in Paris. The Majestic was opened in 1908 as a large and very luxurious property. In 1936 it was sold to the French Government for use as offices. They would have been the building owners in 1938 at the circa date of the fixture. The building was sold again in 2008 and after an extensive renovation, was re-opened as a hotel named The Peninsula Paris. The building has a long and storied history. Also Note: The later lamp conversion shown below dated 2021-03-13 is not an R. Lalique Model. There is no R. Lalique Majestic Lamp model.
