Note: Fuchsias is the same word in French and English. It's a genus of around 100 species of flowering shrubs and small trees. They are native to South and Central America and a few islands. Fuchsias were discovered by the French botanist Plumier late in the 17th century in Hispanolia over 150 years before the birth of Rene Lalique. Plumier named them after the German botanist Leonhart Fuchs. Here are a variety of images.
